Donnybrook Eco Retreat

Updated: Jun 30, 2020

Our stay at Donnybrook eco-retreat was wonderful. We stayed there for two nights and we would happily return. Between sitting back relaxing drinking wine, exploring on the property and enjoying the wine of the Hunter Valley there is a lot to do in this area.

They have three different choices for accommodation on the property, the one we stayed in looked over the billabong. The view is beautiful and you can see it right from the bed. The deck out the fronts cozy and there is a fire pit on the grass too. they breakfast they provide you with is homegrown from the farm, and taste wonderful. It is a basket that has the produce for you to make it yourself, ours had eggs, bacon, juice, cereals, bread ect.

The camp kitchen facilities were good and the small fridge has enough room for you to bring food to cook with. The bathroom is connected to the tent and the shower is good and hot has hot water. The bathroom walls are corrugated iron which adds a rustic outdoor feel.

We went on a walk and a picnic on their 100 acres, which has trails that the owners happily suggested for us. We also sat and watched their goats for a while, they are funny little animals, as well went on wine tours.

The location is perfect, and it is easy to go on wine tours and enjoy the amazing restaurants in the Hunter Valley. This is a great place to have a simple relaxing weekend away from people but still have comforts to enjoy.
