Closest town: 44Km away is the township of Wauchope. There you can find a grocery store and petrol stations for any supplys you may need. There is also a small hospital and many boutique shops. The next major town is the beach side town of port macquarie.
Things to do: Timber town in Wauchope is a hertiage village that show cases the struggles of the past; there are working saw mills, horse and carrige rides, steam train and much more. In the summer swimming in the wilson river is refreshing and there is 4wding in the state forest as well.
Other things to note: There are two campsites in this area, and Wild Bull is the larger of the two, this site would be great for larger groups and families. Next to the river and there is great climbing trees. In the summer this would be great as the swimming in the river is fantastic. There is an amazing waterhole at this campsite, even with steps down into the water. There are drop toilets at the site, and are in great condition as they are quite new. There is no taps so you need to bring in your own water supplies. The drive into this campsite is beautiful, but go slow as there are many sharp turns. This site is 1.5 Km up the road from The Bluff campground.
One thing we thought worth mentioning; there is a really great tree with wooden steps nailed to it over the water, really cool idea! BUT just know that there have been some pretty big storms in recent times in the area and there could very easily debris under there water.
